Reaching out of the Los Angeles skyline into shimmering heat haze, Dan Sieg returns to the familiar surroundings of Mango Alley with "Submood / Klunker". Rhythmic prowess provides a strong foundation as resolute beat frames all and percussive hi-hats draw lines that cross in intricate patterns – the steel girders that bind the city together. A melodic trope flows in "Submood" – repetitive sequencing creates a seemingly simple pattern that replicates itself in ever-evolving patterns; modern architectural design faces out towards the city, its pattern playing tricks of perspective in the consciousness of passers-by. Innovation supplies the mechanical underpinnings of "Klunker" as jagged edges and synth lines that cut like arc-welders into the sonic infrastructure. Creating an auditory collage of multi-faceted texture, beauty emerges in clever manipulation of the audible form.

Dutch precision informs a new perception of "Klunker". Never alone in a sprawling metropolis, Mononoid create a vibrant sonic architecture from a monument of modern art. Refracted colours create synesthesia in aural form as a new rhythmic groundwork provides the basis for an original interpretation to rise out of themes that are the central pillars of Sieg's structure. Intelligently revisited in understated precision, a new direction sees rippling arpeggios spiral in hypnotic patterns, shining like sun reflected across a wall of glass.
